The books that never get an audiobook

Not the same as your reader app’s read-aloud
Most EPUB readers can speak the page with your phone’s built-in voice. That is useful, and it is a different thing: one flat narrator, tied to the text on screen, reading whatever is visible. Converting produces an actual audiobook — persistent chapters, a real player, and a separate voice for every character, so a three-way conversation in a novel still sounds like three people.

Can I convert an EPUB to an audiobook for free?
Yes — every account gets free listening hours each month, no card required. That is enough to hear full chapters of your own EPUB with the multi-voice narration before deciding to pay anything.
Why is EPUB better than PDF for this?
EPUB carries its own structure. Chapters are explicit, text flows in reading order, and there are no page headers, footers or column breaks to trip over. A well-made PDF converts fine too, but if you have the choice, EPUB gives the cleaner audiobook.
Will DRM-protected ebooks work?
No. Books locked to Kindle or Adobe DRM cannot be opened by other apps at all — that is the point of DRM. Lyraboo works with DRM-free EPUB files: indie and self-published releases, author downloads, Patreon rewards, public domain editions, and stores that sell unlocked files.
What about very long books or series?
Normal case. Audio generates chapter by chapter in the background while you listen to the earlier ones, and hours are spent only once per chapter — replaying audio you already generated is free forever.
