How it works
You upload a book from your phone. Lyraboo splits it into chapters, separates the narration
from the dialogue, works out who is speaking and casts a voice for each character. The first
chapter is ready in about one to two minutes, and the rest generate in the background while
you listen in the built-in player — with chapters, playback speed, lock-screen controls and
on-screen text that follows the voice.
It is made for fiction, where a single text-to-speech voice makes long dialogue hard to
follow: novels, fanfiction from AO3, web serials from
Royal Road, and indie or older books that will never get
an official audiobook.
Limits worth knowing
- Android only; no iPhone app yet.
- Needs an internet connection; no offline mode and no MP3 export.
- Scanned PDFs and DRM-protected ebooks are not supported.
- Voices are cast automatically; you cannot hand-pick a voice for each character.
